Job description: OverviewThis position will work closely with the VP of Product Management to define and write product features for PowerBuddy and PowerSchool Generative AI and content initiatives in collaboration with the Product and R&D teams. You are responsible for assisting in the definition of high-value extensions and enhancements to PowerSchool’s PowerBuddy product portfolio. This position will follow the Agile development process, to define the scope of work for the scrum team by creating user stories, developing acceptance criteria and refining the product backlog. Acting as a subject matter expert and working with product management, you will apply incremental delivery principles to working practices, driving the delivery of value through your teams; communicating progress, eliciting feedback and enabling stakeholder reviews for validation in the process. This position will also use their skills to advance the progress of the Agile maturity model and provide timely reporting to Senior Management to ensure corporate objectives are being met.ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Overall responsibility for the development and management of student prompts for our generative AI tools.
- Focus on the development of user experience and generative AI prompts for our AI tools for students and staff.
- Take ownership of all curriculum and content for the CCLR product.
- Be responsible for all student-facing content throughout the solution, including college and career profiles and related content.
- Collaborate with product managers to ensure AI tools meet user requirements.
- Support the VP, Product along with other Product Managers on this CCLR product in the development of product vision, goals, themes, and features, and drive the product roadmap and long-term product strategy with these in mind.
- Translate product directives into backlog items, effectively representing customer needs. Serve as the primary source of external information for the teams, offering clear definitions of the targeted capability, the intended value to the customer, and functional/non-functional requirements framing the scope of the capability – independent of implementation.
- Work closely with Development on implementation issues.
- Review QA test plans to align with acceptance criteria.
- Work directly with customers to understand their needs and continuously communicate back to them our roadmap and progress.
- Effectively communicate product release contents and expected product capabilities/behavior to stakeholders, including external and internal customers.
- Liaise with other areas of PowerSchool product management to drive interoperability.
- Ensure the correct features are being developed, considering the value being delivered against the cost of delivery.
- Provide weekly reports on project status to Senior Leaders.
- Monitor and identify impediments to release objectives and suggest corrective actions as necessary.
