- Establishes acquisition program priorities, monitors progress and takes action to ensure that all milestones are met or workarounds are in place to mitigate potential issues.
- Maintains liaison with internal and external stakeholders from Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Army (DA), supporting organizations, and industry partners to ensure the program is on track to meet cost, schedule and performance goals.
- Reviews technical resources, acquisition policies, and directives from higher echelons to initiate, plan, and direct a variety of activities critical to mission accomplishment.
- Analyzes budget revisions, schedule adjustments, legislative/policy changes, and economic trends to determine their impact on assigned programs and take necessary action to minimize adverse effects.

- This is a DoD Demonstration Project position. Under the Defense Authorization Act, personnel management demonstration programs are operating in numerous Army activities and various other organizations supported by Army civilian personnel centers. Under the streamlined personnel operations for demonstration projects, the familiar 15 General Schedule grade structure is replaced with broad pay bands that typically encompass a range of grades. For example, acquisition jobs in level NH-III of broad banding encompass the traditional GS-12 through GS-13 grades. Other initiatives under the demonstration projects include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process, and expanded developmental opportunities.
