As a member of our Agile & Digital Transformation team, the remote Scrum Master will lead Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives and assist the Agile Lead, as necessary, with preparing for PI Planning and other enterprise-level Agile activities. Candidate has some experience with Agile methodologies and a strong willingness to learn more about Agile processes and practices as well as DoD culture. Project Admin experience with Jira and Confluence is required. The remote Scrum Master must feel comfortable configuring new Jira Scrum and Kanban boards, creating Jira issues, and closing out Sprints. Additional training will be provided to upgrade Atlassian skillset. The Scrum Master will be working remotely on an internal, cross-functional Sabel Agile team comprised of Model-Based Systems Engineers, Scrum Masters, Jira/Confluence Subject Matter Experts, a Full Stack Developer, a Front End Developer and an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer. The Scrum Master must be able to work independently as well as brainstorm innovative solutions with teammates via MS Teams calls, chat and email. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn and continuously improve and grow as a team. - Assist Agile Lead in facilitating Agile ceremonies and practices within the team, as needed
- Configure Jira Scrum and Kanban boards, create and manage Jira issues for the team, and create/close Sprints
- Establish and lead Agile ceremonies and cadence, including Daily Stand Ups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, Sprint Reviews, etc
- Participate in Program Increment (PI) Events and learn how to lead them
- Learn to facilitate Agile workshops to evaluate value delivery and team structure
- Lead by example and drive cultural change through embodying an Agile mindset, while establishing Business Rules and Best Practices
- Learn how to configure Jira and Confluence to ensure visibility of the backlog and product roadmap
- Learn how to train team members on the Sabel approach to Agile and Jira/Confluence standards and best practices, eventually leading internal and/or external Agile and Jira/Confluence training sessions
- Manage the Agile & Digital Transformation team’s Confluence space, updating the Agile Knowledge Management System with new documentation, including processes, practices, and lessons learned
- Lead or participate in Scrum of Scrums, discussing and deconflicting cross-team dependencies
- Assist Product Owner with defining Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done
- Assist team with Sprint and/or PI Objectives
- Facilitate team collaboration sessions, as needed
- Create, or assist with creating, Agile presentations and how-to guides, proofreading for correctness and ensuring proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation prior to release to customer or Agile Lead
- Conduct remote and/or in-person Agile product demonstrations, as required
- Collaborate directly with internal teams over MS Teams calls, chat or email to understand any concerns and gather feedback or requirements
- Coordinate appropriate meeting times with teammates, send a MS Teams invite, and join calls on-time, scheduling and attending follow-up meetings as needed
- Maintain professional communications and appearance with customers and team members, responding to emails and participating in MS Teams calls appropriately
- Attend daily stand-ups (DSUs), Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and any other team meetings on time
- Manage individual daily work tasks within a Jira board
- Other duties as assigned
Your QualificationsRequired
- US Citizen
- Strong spoken and written English skills
- Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of Scrum Master experience
- Active Scrum Master Certification, such as Certified Scrum Master, SAFe Scrum Master, or Disciplined Agile Scrum Master
- Proficient MS Office 365 User
- Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies and ceremonies
- Experience working on a Scrum team and implementing Agile methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to telework with clear phone and internet connectivity
- Ability to obtain minimum of Secret level security clearance, will upgrade to TS
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Expected salary: $107000 – 116000 per year
