- Assesses the full scope of the patient’s needs by performing nursing functions based on the nursing process, including interview of patients, family members, review of medical record, and documentation of all findings.
- Shares in the responsibility for the maintenance of patient records. Records observations relative to patient condition, nursing intervention and patient reaction.
- Provides age appropriate care and treatment to all patients, such as observing patients as required for change in vital signs and reports adverse symptoms.
- When certified, administers medication under the supervision of a professional nurse. Incumbent may administer prescribed medications by oral, subcutaneous and intravenous routes.
- Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, serves as team leader by managing unit activities.
