This role is based at our current HQ in Bloomington but will move to Eagan in 2025.***ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESHunt Electric’s Engineering Team has an opening for an Electrical Designer. We’re seeking a candidate with electrical design/engineering experience (at least two years) on commercial or industrial construction projects to join this team that puts the design in design build. Our Design Engineering team interacts with all departments at all project stages to deliver design documents that exceed client expectations. The Electrical Designer needs to be versatile as they will work on projects of varying sizes and type, but they will also have the ability to become the team “go-to” person as they develop expertise in a design area.

  • Create electrical drawings for construction projects (health care, high rises, commercial, industrial.)
  • Provide design leadership when partnering with Hunt Electric teams (preconstruction, project management, national, special services, prefab) and other construction disciplines and trades.
  • Perform short circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum two (2) year degree electrical design for construction or similar.
  • At least two years of design experience on electrical construction projects (commercial, industrial, health care, etc.)
  • Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office; experience with EasyPower or PowerTools
  • Ability to produce highly detailed and accurate design drawings compliant with the National Electrical Code.
  • Have a track record of success collaborating and communicating with project teams.
  • Experience performing electrical studies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
  • Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.
  • This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
  • This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
