Job description: Job DescriptionJoin the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) as an Engineering Assistant and be a part of our dynamic team dedicated to enhancing and maintaining Michigan’s transportation infrastructure. This role offers hands on experience performing tasks which could include assisting in inspecting, sampling, and testing construction materials; supporting soil and rock boring crews, as well as pavement and structure coring crews; creating detailed maps, drawings, charts, and graphs; etc.This position is designed to prepare you for future opportunities as a Transportation Technician within MDOT. To be eligible to compete for these roles, you must obtain one of the following certifications: bituminous (hot mix), concrete, density testing, or aggregate gradation, and possess two years of experience equivalent to an Engineering Assistant.The “Salary” listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (6) level through the maximum rate at the experienced (E8) level.
