Job description: HPC Engineer: Remote OR if you are located in Fairfax or Tucson this can be hybrid if requested.Our team is currently supporting Space Payload Systems.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong skill in fundamental Software Engineering approaches and languages with an interest and specialization in acceleration and deployment of Machine Learning algorithms.
- Candidate should be strong in multi-threaded
- C/C++/Python and have experience implementing highly parallelizable novel algorithms on edge hardware in collaboration with scientists and other software engineers.
Duties andResponsibilities· Collaborate with scientists andresearchers on projects related to image processing, machine learning,artificial intelligence and computer vision.· Contribute your strongprogramming ability and experience in parallel computing to develop robustsolutions for real-world problems.· Optimize runtime speed of deepneural networks, while retaining accuracy, by leveraging model compression andconversion approaches.· Deploy machine learning modelsand standard algorithmic implementations at the edge for real-time inference.· Partner with internal andexternal software and hardware teams to maximize process chain performance.· Support on-site work, as needed.· Support travel or off-site work, as needed on an as-needed basis to support finalintegration exercises necessary for product delivery.· Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree + 4-6 yearsexperience, Master’s degree + 2-4 years experience, or Ph.D. in ComputerScience + 0-2 years experience, Electrical and Computer Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, Physics, or related field.· An active U.S. Government Security Clearance orthe ability to obtain a Clearance. Current SSBI is preferred. If not alreadycleared TS/SCI, willingness and ability to apply for and maintain a TS/SCIsecurity clearance.· Familiarity with C, C++, Python and Matlab.· Familiarity with high-performance, dataparallel, multi-core processing.· Familiarity with numerical computingprinciples.· Strong knowledge of parallel computing principles, NVIDIA CUDA programming model, GPUarchitecture, and performance-optimization techniques and software.· Experience with deep learning libraries(TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).· Experience with model deployment using softwaresuch as TensorRT, ONNX, and Triton.· Experience working with machine learning teams to deliver real products.· Ability to collaborate in a hybrid/remote environment with a geographically diverse team.PreferredQualifications· Experience with softwaredevelopment life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, sourcecontrol management, build processes, and testing.· Familiarity with image processing algorithms viaclassical and various deep-learning-based computer vision domains (ObjectDetection, Segmentation, Re-Identification, Tracking, Super Resolution).· Familiarity with performance primitives suchas IPP, NPP, and Arm Performance Libraries.· Experience with AWS/Sagemaker.· Familiarity with MS Office Tool Suite.· Experience implementing novel algorithmscollaborating with scientists.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
