- Responsivities include monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws, including FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, DOL and IRS regulations in collaboration with Department Management, Directors of Business Operations and Talent Management department.
- Lead implementation of new programs, portal content updates, vendor RFPs and contract negotiations related to LOAs.
- Engage with the Chief Employment counsel regarding complex leave and accommodation issues.
- Manage Firm workers compensation program including handling claims, settlement negotiations, and coordination with outside counsel to attend depositions/hearings.
- Prepare reports reflecting individuals currently on leave and applicable budget relief for timekeepers.
- Ensure that all records related to LOA, workers comp, ergonomics and accommodations are complete.
- Review and provide recommendations for all ADA accommodations.
- Develop, implement and monitor appropriate controls and metrics to identify and recommend improvements to current processes to ensure that overall performance is aligned with business objectives.
- Interface with consultants, vendors, and carriers.
- Oversee payroll and benefit premium collection for individuals on leave and initiate the interactive process.
- Assist with benefit administration and respond to general inquiries and regularly review policy documents for updates.
Position Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Workday (or similar HRIS).
- Proficient in payroll systems and related regulations (i.e., COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, Section 125, qualifying family events, PPACA, ERISA, 401(k), 415).
- Knowledge of general payroll concepts, benefit programs, LOA administration, and of employment/LOA/ADA accommodation-related laws and practices.
- Act with a high degree of integrity and discretion handling confidential employee information while exercising good judgment at all times with respect to data privacy, security and all Firm policies and procedures.
