Job description: Position Description :Serco Inc. is seeking a Payroll Timekeeping Administrator to join our team – (100% Remote). You will have key responsibilities for processing Labor and Leave to support high volume, complex multi-state and multi-FEIN payrolls, ensuring a high degree of accuracy and regulatory compliance. Primary responsibilities include performing system administration functions in Deltek Time & Expense and KRONOS. Major responsibility of the position is to provide excellent support to the full labor and payroll processing cycle. This includes accurate synchronization of CostPoint with timekeeping systems for leave accruals. This position will also be involved with other payroll responsibilities.As required, the Payroll Timekeeping Administrator will collaborate with other Corporate Financial Services staff to create efficient processes as well as troubleshoot data and processes by researching issues and assisting with root cause analysis to define problems, recommend solutions, and to ensure stability and quality of the labor process.The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work effectively under pressure, independently, and within a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.This position requires flexible working hours to accommodate deadlines for labor necessary for payroll processing and could require work on holidays and/or overtime.In this role you will:

  • Process payroll and maintain payroll information as required;
  • Data entry for labor, leave and payroll transactions
  • Federal, State and Local tax setup and review
  • Garnishment setup, review and responses
  • Support year-end W-2 processing and audit
  • Prepare and maintain related payroll records and reports
  • File and retrieve various documents and records and other special projects as assigned by management.
  • Research discrepancies with payroll information (e.g. time sheets, leave time, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
  • Inform personnel, service providers, and internal departments regarding required documentation and procedures for the purpose of conveying information necessary to complete transactions.
  • Verify and audit a variety of payroll related information (e.g. time sheets, direct deposits, wage attachments, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accurate distribution of funds and payroll.
  • Audit payroll reports after each payroll run to confirm accuracy of wage, tax, and deduction information.
  • Identify and document all issues/errors and resolutions for future reference and process improvements.
  • Support the Payroll Help Desk for issues relating to payroll, leave, and timekeeping/labor.
  • Advise employees and managers on company policies and guidelines.
  • Run labor/payroll output interfaces and reports, transmit to outside vendors for processing, and collaborate with HR and IT on maintenance and enhancements.
  • Review system updates and follow up with HRIS staff as required.
  • Be able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Perform daily imports and exports from the timekeeping systems to the CostPoint database, including labor loads for all standard labor cycles and manage a process server.

Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • United States Citizenship
  • Associates degree
  • or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience processing high volume, multi-state payroll consisting of 2000+ employees
  • Minimum 2 years of experience processing high volume, multi-state payroll consisting of 2000+ employees
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Deltek Time and Expense is required
  • CostPoint Labor, Leave and Payroll strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a government contracting environment
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll/tax regulations
  • Very high attention to detail; organized and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement
  • Stellar work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills; high degree of proficiency with MS Excel

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience with Kronos desired
  • Working knowledge of Cognos Impromptu a plus
