Job description: IntroductionPerforms paraprofessional administrative and research work, including assistance in cost analysis duties and support to Project Managers involved in the coordination and implementation of various development, redevelopment or capital improvement projects. - An Associate’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Two years’ experience in a governmental, engineering or construction support position.
- An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver’s licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.Essential FunctionsPerforms duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
- Performs administrative duties in support of professional staff involving cost analysis, funding verification, accounting tasks, budget impact information and data support on projects in the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
- Receives, prepares and completes various forms, reports, correspondence, contracts and grant documents, purchase orders, billing documents, presentations or other documents.
- Conducts a variety of technical studies for various reports, operational analysis, cost-benefit analysis and impact, feasibility impact and rate studies as they relate to a specific program area or project.
- Composes, revises and edits a variety of routine-to-difficult correspondence, reports and informational materials, from rough notes, drafts, dictation and/or brief oral instructions.
- Types, formats, edits, revises, proofreads and prints reports, correspondence, memoranda, contracts, agreements, technical charts, and tables and other specialized and technical materials ranging from routine to complex.
- Acts as a database administrator for various computerized systems. Analyzes data, tracks essential data, integrates information into reports.
- Works with Project Managers to manage and track CIP budgets and project expenditures, by providing funding, budget and expenditure reporting analysis of CIP funds availability.
- Organizes and maintains records, files, maps and plans manually and on the computer
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Work is performed in a City office environment, with some work performed in the field performing employee interviews or site inspections.
- Operates a variety of standard office equipment, which requires continuous and repetitive arm, hand, and eye movements.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Travel to/from meetings and various locations.
