Develop proficiency with administering eligibility assessments, authorizing services, and tracking financial eligibility for our clients.Position SummaryCore Daily Responsibilities:

  • Authorization, oversight and monitoring of care plans for older adults and adults with disabilities and coordination of supportive services for unpaid caregivers.
  • Provide eligibility assessment for in-home services using a laptop in the client’s home setting.
  • Respond to individuals seeking information by providing routine information, referrals and assistance.
  • Monitor both the progress of the client and the adequacy of the services being provided.
  • Provide coordination of services and advocacy for older adults and adults with disabilities.
  • Provide nursing consultation services and oversight as described in the Aging & Long-Term Support Administration’s Long-Term Care Manual.
  • Provide nursing and case management services to older and adult disabled clients who are eligible for Medicaid in-home services

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing from a NLN accredited institution or RN with a Bachelors of Arts in a Social Services related field required.
  • Community-based nursing experience essential.
  • Current, non-restricted license to practice as a RN in the State of Washington .
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.

After approximately six months, employees receive six days of vacation leave.

Some Pierce County employees may be designated to receive 10 “furlough” days per year in lieu of holidays. Furlough days are available for use on January 1 and must be scheduled and taken within the calendar year. Employees who leave employment with Pierce County must reimburse the employer for used furlough days based upon the number of remaining holidays.Sick Leave:
Sick leave accrues on a bi-weekly basis, at the rate of one day per month.Insurance Benefits:
