Job SummaryWe are seeking a Medical Biller to join our team! As a Medical Biller, you will oversee day-to-day billing operations including but not limited to Charge Entry, Payment Posting, Claims Follow-up/Appeal. You will be working closely with the clinical team to answer questions related to billing, processing all forms needed for insurance billing purposes, and collecting necessary documentation from clinical team. You will also communicate with practitioners and and others in the need to know to obtain records, and accurately record patient information. The ideal candidate has great knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare billing for primary care services and toxicology screening, has excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and is comfortable working as part of a team.Responsibilities
- Review physician charges and adds modifiers or other standard coding conventions to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Process insurance claims through Medicaid/Medicare
- Note and process all necessary forms from the insurance
- Assist providers in navigating the billing and insurance landscape, including collecting all necessary forms and signatures
- Work with practitioners and medical providers to obtain charge information and billing details
- Enter all billing and payment information into the system properly and without errors
- Follow up with and correct claim rejections as needed
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality
Qualifications
- Three to Five years of related experience (in the DMV) with medical claims, reviews such as utilization management, quality assurance, charge capture, coding, billing and medical necessity to facilitate correct claims submission to federal and state payers is a must.
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
This is a remote position.
Expected salary: $27 – 40 per hour
