Our team of passionate developers is growing.As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will play a key role in shaping the visual and interactive aspects of our games. You will collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and other engineers to implement intuitive, responsive, and performant UI Engine features. Your expertise in UI development will be crucial in creating cutting-edge interfaces across various gaming platforms, as the Engine team is responsible for foundational technologies like UI/UX, Accessibility, Console Platforms, Animation, VFX, and Physics.This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY, or Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person’s circumstances may be unique, and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.Responsibilities:Familiarize yourself with our UI technology and pipelines.Design and implement new engine features and capabilities with a focus on UI/UX.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate conceptual UI/UX designs into interactive and visually appealing interfaces.Foster positive and supportive relationships with our UI developers in both engineering and design/art.Implement complex UI solutions for our engine, including data-driven UI solutions, vectorized text, layout improvements, and optimizations.Provide expertise and mentorship to your team’s leads and junior engineers.Work with QA, feature developers, design, and production to identify and mitigate risk areas.Provide leadership by proposing future-facing UI engine improvements or features.Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in UI/UX design and gaming industry best practices, and actively contribute to continuously improving our development workflows and codebase.Minimum Requirements:At least 7 years of prior UI framework engineering experience.Proven ability to design and implement efficient workflows and pipelines to produce AAA-quality content within required timeframes.Familiarity with industry-known UI technologies and paradigms such as Layout Systems, WPF and XAML, DataBinding, Input Routing, Font Handling, and Rendering.Proficiency with C++.Ability to communicate effectively with developers of all disciplines and technical skill levels.Experience in mentoring team members and enhancing their understanding of UI frameworks.Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between engineering and UI content creation.Strong leadership skills to foster a cohesive and skilled team capable of meeting the evolving demands of AAA game development.Bonus:Familiarity with C#.Strong Math skills.Experience developing for, and optimizing, console platforms.Experience with data-driven UI solutions and vectorized text.Knowledge of layout improvements and optimizations.A degree in computer science, or a related field.We love hearing from anyone who is enthusiastic about changing the games industry. You can learn more by visiting .In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 – $224,880.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
