Job description: Reports To: CTOFully Remote, in the US onlyThe team lead should possess strong expertise in Web Development and Server Technologies, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills to efficiently address complex issues.As part of your role, you will collaborate closely with the CTO and other departments to identify development needs and establish team goals. Together, you will work towards achieving Objectives and Key Results (OKR) by fulfilling all development requirements.An essential requirement for this position is the ability to work independently and effectively manage development teams. We highly value attention to detail and hold our team lead to the highest standards.ResponsibilitiesCTO Collaboration and Strategic Initiatives:
- Collaborate closely with and assist the CTO in all technical aspects and strategic initiatives.
- Assist the CTO in hiring new team members, ensuring the team remains agile and capable of meeting evolving project requirements.
Communication and Team Alignment:
- Communicate effectively and transparently with the entire team, especially upper management, to ensure alignment and clarity.
- Understand each team member’s needs and positively grow each individual.
Cross-Department Interaction:
- Interact with various departments to gather and implement development requirements, ensuring cohesive project execution.
Development Methodologies:
- Enforce and adhere to Agile & Scrum development methodologies, assigning responsibilities to team members and monitoring their progress.
- Support the tech team in establishing best practices and moving forward.
Code Quality and Testing:
- Inspect and test code developed by team members to maintain high-quality standards.
- Conduct website performance tests and make improvements as needed.
Web Asset Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Monitor all company web assets, ensuring maximum uptime and optimal performance.
- Manage code and content updates, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure all work adheres to current industry best practices.
Hands-on Development:
- Act as a hands-on coder/architect across the technology stack, contributing to the development and maintenance of multiple existing websites.
- Develop websites, tools, prototypes, and applications using the latest front-end and back-end technologies based on knowledge and experience.
Workflow Improvement and Adaptation:
- Provide recommendations for ways to improve workflow and process.
- Stay current with industry best practices and eager to learn new technologies, adapting to new requirements and assignments as needed.
RequirementsEducational Background and Experience:
- BSCS/MSC or equivalent technical degree.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering and managing teams, or proven demonstrable skill and experience.
Technical Skills:
- Programming language-agnostic with hands-on experience coding in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.
- Advanced proficiency with NodeJS, React, Vue.js, SASS, Gulp, Docker, Apache, MySQL, MongoDB, GIT, and Twitter Bootstrap.
- Strong knowledge of web server technologies such as Apache, Nginx, and cPanel.
- Strong API and integration design skills.
- Extensive experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Subject matter expertise in full stack development; WordPress development is a plus.
Problem-Solving and Project Management:
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage work under time and operational pressures.
- Proven ability in designing, building, and running high-performance, highly-available, and scalable websites.
- Familiarity with technology delivery methods, including traditional software development and Agile development lifecycles.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage teams effectively.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Great attitude, sense of humor, and a willingness to learn.
