We are doing big things.Come join us at eXp Realty – a 7x Glassdoor Best Places to Work organization!What you will do:The Trust Accountant will be responsible for the recording and reporting of multiple trust bank accounts. This position will operate under the direction of the Global Treasury Director. Responsibilities will also include ensuring that all trust accounting processes are undertaken in accordance with statutory requirements, while maintaining reporting and analyses of balances across all trust bank accounts on a daily basis, and ensuring monies are transacted within appropriate deadlines. In addition, this position will provide backup support to the other accountants in the department and will assist on special projects as assigned.Maintain multiple trust accounts to ensure accurate and complete accounting of transactions in accordance with specific regulatory requirementsProcess and/or review all daily cash movement requests such as remittances, wire transfers, ACH transactions and disbursements by monitoring, updating and posting system registersHands on, daily recording of escrow related transactions and activities in the company system of record which will require close contact with state brokers and account managers.Identify and research trust account discrepanciesEnsure proper handling of trust accounts and proper enforcement of escheat lawsAssist with the development of new processes, policies or procedures to advance the controls and accounting environment within trust accountingLiaison with company accounting and finance staff to ensure that activity is being properly recorded into the company’s books and recordsMaintain database integrity and ensure accuracy of record keepingAssist in creating trust reports and analysesProvide support for the preparation of bank reconciliationsPartner with Accounting, Operations and Legal teams, as well as ensure that proper internal controls are in place for compliance with Sarbanes-OxleyOther Accountabilities as AssignedEducation & Experience:BA or BS degree in Finance or AccountingMBA strongly preferred3+ years related trust accounting experience in a public company with experience in real estate brokerage accounting a plusCurrent or former real estate licensee strongly preferredAbility to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment and be hands-onPositive and cooperative; have the ability to work with multiple teams, both internal and external with strong quantitative skillsProficient knowledge of Microsoft ExcelAttention to detail and solid customer service instinctsWhat eXp provides:Fully remote environmentPaid Time Off401k with 4% match (immediate vesting)Robust Medical, Dental, & Vision benefitsCompany provided equipmentMonthly Technology StipendFSA & HSA with employer contributionsStock option grantHealth & Wellness incentives100% Paid Parental LeaveThe total base pay for this position starts at $60,000 in our lowest geographic cost of living market up to $65,000 in our highest geographic cost of living market and is dependent upon many factors such as location, experience, skills, and training.
