We also have developed a range of by-products for specialized applications across industry, construction and agriculture, which utilize Harsco’s expertise in mineral materials.Position SummaryWorking collaboratively as part of the Reed Minerals leadership team to drive all Human Resource direction, support, coordination and execution for the Reed Minerals business.Job Description

  • Ensures that Human Resources practices are consistently applied for a site or function and are compliant with federal and state requirements including compliance with EEO and AA programs to correct under-representation.
  • Acts as a business partner setting and driving culture, establishing effective employee relations, personnel policies and procedures, training, development and managing employee communications within the business.
  • Training of managers and employees will include understanding and implementing the Code of Conduct, legal and regulatory compliance, positive employee relations, and all other company-wide program or policy initiatives.
  • Works to investigate and resolve employee/labor relations issues. Assists in the investigation of harassment, discrimination and other charges.
  • Leads effort in recruiting (internal/external) for key open positions and organization development. Provides support on job postings, resume screening, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, promotion, merit, disciplinary action, and exits for all functions and sites.
  • Onboarding all new employees will include initiating background checks, drug screenings, process I-9 via E-verify, etc.
  • Supports operations/plant leadership in labor relations objectives and negotiation including coordination of grievance process.
  • Develop and execute a performance evaluation and feedback process for direct reports.
  • Executes the Talent Review Process, through recruiting, retention, evaluation and placement of key talent including succession planning, retention, training and development.
  • Provides coaching and development for leadership staff and other personnel on performance management issues.
  • Coordinate, educate and administer company benefit programs as directed by the business leadership.
  • Management and communication of employee payroll – changing employee pay rates, tracking start and end dates, and entering or changing benefits information.
  • Sets and achieves HR metrics with approved budgets and timelines to further drive HR value to the business.
  • Provide leadership and support for current and future HQ office setup and layout.
  • Drive team building activities within the business in coordination with leadership team.
  • Manage HR projects in support of HR and business operations and organizational design initiatives.
  • Accurately maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from database.
  • Manages HR Admin to further execute key daily HR activities within the business.
  • Travel up to 50% of the month (multiple 2-3 day trips in coordination with leadership)

QualificationsII. Basic Qualifications * Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or a business discipline
  • Experience
  • 5 plus years experience in progressive HR roles

III. Preferred Qualifications * Education or Experience

  • Master’s Degree in HR or a business-related discipline
  • 5 plus years experience in progressive HR roles (industrial, manufacturing and multiple locations)
  • Experience with collective bargaining agreements including grievance investigations, responses and participation in contract negotiations
  • Previous Lean or Six Sigma experience
  • PHR, SPHR, GPHR
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex data
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner across all levels within the organization
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and provide solutions/conclusions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical Skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Internet and Email
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Mathematical skills
  • Experience negotiating labor contracts, dealing with grievances and arbitrations
  • Other Skills
  • Ability to effectively evaluate, train and supervise the work of others in remote locations.
  • Advanced knowledge in legislation affecting HR in multiple states and Canada.
