Job description: 988 Lifeline Call Taker – Overnight Shifts Available ($20/hr)Join our team as a 988 Lifeline Call Taker and provide crucial support to individuals in distress. Starting July 16, 2022, 988 will be a nationwide, 24/7 crisis line connecting callers with trained National Suicide Prevention Lifeline counselors. This part-time role offers overnight shifts at $20/hr, with initial training in our Framingham office and remote work thereafter. Candidates must commit to at least 2 shifts per week and possess the ability to offer empathetic, non-judgmental assistance to callers in crisis.What we are looking for:
- High school diploma
- Previous experience in telephone/call-center roles, especially those involving emotional support, is highly preferred
- Skilled in data gathering techniques
- Competent with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, databases, and other software systems
- Ability to remain calm and composed while deescalating crisis situations
- Must attend training in Framingham, MA
- Requires a Mac (Google Chrome access) or PC, reliable Wi-Fi, and a headset with a microphone compatible with the computer
- Must have a quiet workspace for working from home
- Must be available for at least 2 shifts per week
