The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Month-End Close, Payroll, and other accounting/finance functions as designated by the CFO. The ideal candidate will be communicative, collaborative, detail oriented, focused on effective and meaningful solutions, and work effectively in a remote environment. The Accounting Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization as needed.Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a day-to-day operational accounting role

  • U.S. Citizenship Required

Required Qualifications

  • Direct experience managing and maintaining Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, BILL Accounts Payable, BILL Spend & Expense
  • Proven ability to maintain accounting system and general ledger activity in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for increased productivity and efficiency
  • Effectively manage and meet deadlines and workloads with minimal oversight and supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Masterful communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance
  • Experience with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 31
  • Experience with allocations, indirect rate structures, and related processes
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills
  • Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) and accounting automation
  • CPA or Master’s Degree preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage day-to-day full cycle accounting operations, to ensure accuracy of financial accounting records and financial statements within accounting system and subledger systems
  • Manage accounts payable process, including use of BILL for A/P entry and BILL Spend & Expense for expense reporting
  • Assist with accounts receivable process, including preparation of invoices and supporting reports
  • Assist in maintaining chart of accounts, accounting dimensions, and other data within accounting system as necessary
  • Ensuring all ancillary systems stay connected and current to accounting system as needed
  • Manage month-end close process including identification, preparation, and posting of of accruals, allocation entries, and other complex journal entries as necessary, including preparation and management of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage and complete close checklist on monthly basis
  • Calculate and monitor indirect rates on monthly basis
  • Prepare incurred cost submissions, as required
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to maintain an efficient and accurate accounting organization
  • Process payroll on a weekly basis
  • Support outside requests for reporting and audit, as needed, including 401(k) compliance testing, insurance audits, DCAA audits, and other ad-hoc financial requests as required
  • Support quarterly and year-end tax preparation
  • Support ongoing state and local tax reporting requirements
  • Prepare 1099s at year-end
  • Define, implement and revise accounting policies and guidelines as needed in accordance with GAAP, FAR Part 31, and industry best practices
  • Monitor and revise annual budgets within accounting system
  • Other duties & responsibilities as assigned by CFO
