Schedule: 9/80 work schedule, with remote work option on FridayAbout the Role: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibility revolves around delivering capital projects from front-end development to detailed design and construction, including procurement, cost control, and schedule management.Key Responsibilities:
- Project Delivery: Accountable for delivering assigned projects within cost and schedule premises, maintaining Goal Zero safety standards.
- Engineering Oversight: Oversee engineering execution with on-site design staff or local engineering companies.
- Team Management: Lead a diverse, matrix project team consisting of facility staff and contractors.
- Project Assurance: Manage and coordinate Project Assurance and Technical Assurance activities.
- Project MOCs & PSSR: Ensure management of change (MOC) processes along with pre-startup safety review (PSSR) sign-offs.
Role Dimensions:
- Project Portfolio: Manage a portfolio of 7 to 12 concurrent projects, each with competing priorities in various execution phases.
- Financial Scope:
- Portfolio value below $75 million
- Average project size less than $10 million
- No more than one project exceeding $40 million
- Average annual spend less than $20 million per year
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Communication: Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities, with a learner mindset.
- Education: Engineering or related technical degree.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills; proficient with GSAP/SAP systems.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years full-time experience as a project engineer or project manager
- At least 8 years of varied experience in the refining and/or petrochemical environment, including projects, maintenance, and turnarounds.
Functional Requirements:
- Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with a variety of communities within the organization, including Business Opportunity Managers, Project Engineers/Managers, Technologists, Discipline Engineers, subject matter experts, Business stakeholders, Manufacturing representatives, and external stakeholders.
- Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication and leadership skills in multi-disciplinary teams. Effective coaching and facilitation skills.
- Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solver with significant change management experience.
- Resilience: Maintain resilience under challenge; capable of influencing and delivering difficult messages upwards and seeking win/win solutions during conflicts.
