Position Overview: The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated data systems and databases that support critical DoD operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in data analysis, a solid understanding of data science principles, and a proven ability to work within the DoD environment. This role demands exceptional technical skills, a strategic mindset, and the capability to handle complex, highly technical data, while also being able to present to high level leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Creation and Management:
- Design, develop, and implement databases from scratch to support a wide range of technical data needs.
- Ensure databases are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
- Develop data models, schemas, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Develop and apply statistical models and algorithms to solve intricate problems.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear, detailed reports and visualization.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with DoD personnel to understand data requirements and operational needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide technical expertise and support in data-related discussions and decision-making processes.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure all data handling and storage practices comply with DoD regulations and standards.
- Implement data security measures to protect sensitive and classified information.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
- 5-10+ years of relevant experience in data analysis and database management.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and managing complex databases from inception.
- Extensive experience with data analysis tools and techniques, including statistical software, SQL, and data visualization platforms.
- Ability to work in a hybrid remote/onsite environment
- Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and data modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of data science principles, including machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or similar.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and their application in presenting complex data.
Department of Defense Experience:
- In-depth understanding of the DoD environment, regulations, and data security protocols.
- Experience working with or supporting DoD projects is highly preferred.

Salary Range: 120-180K
Expected salary: $120000 – 180000 per year
