- Collaboration with R&D Teams: Work closely with research and development teams to provide data science and AI/ML expertise, ensuring the seamless integration of innovative technologies into existing and new projects.
- Develop and Implement AI/ML Solutions: Design, develop, test, deploy, support and enhance new or off-the-shelf secure AI and ML models, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), tailored to domain-specific deliverables and company initiatives. Build the Generative AI platforms, systems and infrastructure and apply general knowledge of software development and infrastructure as code practices.
- Project Management: Manage AI/ML projects from conception through implementation, maintaining timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- System Integration: Collaborate with the Azure architect and other IT professionals to integrate AI/ML solutions within the existing technology stack, ensuring systems are interoperable and support effective collaboration and communication.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments for AI/ML projects and implement proactive measures to mitigate potential risks, ensuring the reliability and security of solutions.
- Tool Development and Optimization: Develop and optimize internal tools and processes using AI/ML technologies, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
- Industry Awareness: Maintain a strong awareness of the latest trends in AI/ML and their applications to engineering consulting and related industries, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
- Knowledge Sharing: Provide training and support to internal teams on AI/ML technologies and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all AI/ML projects, including design specifications, implementation plans, and user guides.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. (required)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience or a master’s degree and three (3) years of experience in developing and deploying AI/ML models, with a strong understanding of RAG models and its implementation using LLMs; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Proficiency with vector stores, semantic search, and related technologies. Knowledge of fine-tuning techniques for LLMs to adapt them to specific tasks and domains is required.
- Familiarity with other AI and ML technologies such as reinforcement learning, computer vision, or recommendation systems is preferred.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency with Azure cloud services, Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other AI/ML frameworks and tools. Experience with creating production level data ingestion pipelines is required, preferably in a work environment.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset is required
- Industry Experience: Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, or experience with geospatial data management, is preferred but not required.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage AI/ML projects from conception to implementation, maintaining timelines, budgets, and quality standards is required.
- Risk Management: Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing proactive measures to ensure the reliability and security of AI/ML solutions. (required)
- Continuous Improvement: Proven track record of continuously monitoring and improving AI/ML solutions to keep tools relevant and effective. (required)
- Field work and overnight travel will be required.
