Job description: Design Strategist, MidKey Role:Conduct thorough research, craft compelling narratives, and develop innovative solutions that align with organizational goals. Identify user needs, brainstorming creative ideas, and prototyping effective solutions. Explore all aspects of a customer’s experience, establishing a complete understanding of their needs and preferences through a variety of tools and techniques, including extensive contextual research, ethnographic research, and usability studies. Translate research into actionable user insights for clients, designers, leadership, and other stakeholders. Apply advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge, and develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work independently without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.Basic Qualifications:
- Experience using critical thinking to work on end-to-end projects
- Ability to lead and facilitate human-centered design processes to develop innovative solutions that meet user needs and drive business goals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketers, to ensure a cohesive and user-centric approach throughout the project lifecycle
- Ability to conduct comprehensive user research, including ethnographic studies, contextual inquiries, and usability testing, to gather deep insights into user behaviors, motivations, and pain points
- Ability to synthesize research findings into actionable insights and design principles that inform the development of user personas, journey maps, and wireframes
- Ability to develop compelling content that effectively communicates design concepts, user insights, and project outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders, and write clear, engaging, and persuasive content for various platforms, including websites, blogs, social media, and marketing materials, ensuring all content aligns with the company’s brand voice and messaging
- Ability to advocate for the user at every stage of the design process, ensuring that their needs and perspectives are represented and prioritized
- Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, like Artificial Intelligence, in design and content creation, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our processes and outputs
- Ability to submit a portfolio and work samples
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and web analytics tools
- Experience in human-centered design, user research, and content writing
- Experience in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Figma
- Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Ability to think creatively and strategically, balancing user needs with business objectives, pay strict attention to detail, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to display a portfolio showcasing design projects and writing samples that demonstrate a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and effective communication
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication
- Possession of excellent collaboration and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, Communications, or a related field preferred; Master’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, Communications, or a related field a plus

The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
