Job description: The Director of HR Employee Portal and Communications is instrumental in enhancing communication channels within the HR department and throughout the organization. This role focuses on overseeing the development, management, and optimization of the HR employee portal while leading strategic communication initiatives to ensure effective dissemination of HR-related information.Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for the HR employee portal aligned with HR objectives and organizational goals.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes, improve employee self-service capabilities, and enhance the overall employee experience through the portal.
Portal Development and Management:
- Lead the continual iteration of the portal, ensuring it meets the needs of our global employee population.
- Collaborate with IT and HR tech teams to integrate relevant HR systems and tools into the portal, such as payroll, benefits, and performance management modules.
- Oversee content creation, organization, and updates on the portal to ensure accuracy, compliance, and relevance to HR policies and procedures.
- Creating consumer grade experience for employee portals with a heavy focus on mobile experience
User Experience Optimization:
- Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to continuously improve the user experience of the HR portal.
- Implement features and functionalities to facilitate easy navigation, efficient information retrieval, and personalized HR services for employees that is easily accessible in desktop and mobile platforms.
Internal HR Communication:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to keep employees, leaders HR staff informed about all things happening in the world of Human Resources including policies, procedures, initiatives and programs.
- Coordinate with HR leaders to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with HR objectives across all communication channels.
- Utilize the HR portal, email, newsletters, and other platforms to disseminate HR-related information to employees effectively.
Content Management:
- Oversee the creation, curation, and distribution of HR-related content for the portal and other communication channels.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in HR to develop engaging and informative materials, including articles, videos, FAQs, and training resources.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Monitor key HR metrics and portal usage analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts and user engagement.
- Generate reports and insights to identify trends, assess the impact of HR initiatives, and inform decision-making within the HR department.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure compliance with HR regulations, data privacy laws, and security standards in the management of HR-related information on the portal.
- Implement measures to safeguard sensitive HR data and mitigate risks associated with data breaches or unauthorized access
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in HR, Communications, Digital Design or related field; extensive experience may also be considered in place of more formal qualifications.
- A minimum of 5-7 years progressive people management experience.
- Extensive experience in HR management, internal communications, and digital platforms administration and transformation.
- Strong project management acumen, underpinned by the ability to orchestrate HR technology implementations and drive process improvement initiatives.
- Superlative written and verbal communication skills, characterized by clarity, professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, content management systems (CMS), and analytics tools with a preference of ServiceNow
- Thorough understanding of HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, adept at fostering collaboration across diverse teams and adeptly managing multiple projects in a dynamic milieu.
