Job description: OverviewGlobal Product Management Leadership of Cook Medical’s Endoscopy Specialty.Preference to be Hybrid-based near a Cook Medical facility in Winston-Salem, NC, USA; Bloomington, IN, USA; or Limerick, Ireland. Qualified, remote based applicants in other geographies will be considered.Develop, communicate, and lead the vision and global product portfolio strategy for the assigned specialty in alignment with the overall division and corporate mission, vision, and strategy.
Define, establish, and manage operational plans for the assigned specialty product portfolio and roadmap to meet market and end-user needs.
Ensure the assigned specialty is efficient, effective, and compliant in meeting the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders and communicate those needs to Division leadership.Lead, coach, develop and evaluate assigned specialty global product management team, and ensure all team members are acting in support of company values and goals.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with other leaders within the Division, company Functions, and Operational Units to implement the specialty product strategy and ensure consistency in priorities, policies, compliance, processes, structure, and projects.
Responsible to develop, communicate, and lead the assigned specialty product portfolio from feasibility through commercialization by directing the product idea development process, guiding opportunity assessments to evaluate future products and line extensions, and supporting and collaborating with Research and Development (R&D) throughout the product development process.
Solve problems that impact multiple departments or specialties using prior experience and analysis of issues.
Collaborate with company leadership to establish and drive aligned business goals and strategy.
Responsible for short and long-term product specialty plans and alignment of the plans with marketing, sales, manufacturing and other division leadership.
Ensure efficient product roll-out strategies through collaboration with strategic marketing, product launch teams, sales, commercial business, regulatory, R&D, and manufacturing.In collaboration with the commercial business team, continuously evaluate and improve profitability for the assigned specialty through development of the product pricing strategy and supply chain effectiveness. Monitor key metrics in line with company and Division financial objectives.Responsible for specialty budget and P&L.Ensure product availability and efficiency during the entire product lifecycle by assisting product managers with collaborating with functional teams and developing product retirement strategies when necessary.Identify issues or opportunities with assigned product portfolio(s) and systems that may have potential impact on our company brand and/or reputation and communicate those to leadership.
Direct decisions on project resources and allocations and collaborate with other departments to identify and mitigate project risks.
Form and continuously refine product management structure for the assigned specialty to allow for global direction and alignment across specialties and Functions.
Improve employee retention by continuing to assess team member morale and overall job satisfaction.
Identify and develop current and future leadership team.
Collaborate with HR to proactively create and implement effective and inclusive succession planning.Collaborate with Human Resources in the process of hiring, developing, and retaining a high performing, diverse workforce.
Establish and maintain strong team communication through regular interactions and meetings. and ensure the team is aware of division and company mission, vision, purpose, and business strategy and overall company status and news.Ensure roles and responsibilities, performance expectations, and training requirements are developed and clearly documented and communicated to each employee. Responsible for performance and wage reviews for team members.Meet deadlines and ensure employees complete administrative tasks such as expenses, training, reporting, policy acknowledgements, submission of performance reviews, etc. in a timely manner.Maintain our culture, values, and commitment to ethics and compliance by recognizing, demonstrating, and enforcing appropriate and compliant behavior.Within scope of responsibility, ensure all quality, regulatory, compliance and product specific requirements are met.Understand and be accountable for conducting Cook business with integrity and in compliance with applicable standards including Cook policies.QualificationsRequired Experience:College degree in related field and/or equivalent relevant experience.Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience, including but not limited to, product management, engineering, sales and/or marketing.
Advanced degree (Masters or MBA or equivalent) may reduce the years of experience requirement.
Demonstrates mastery level knowledge within multiple aspects of product management (e.g. clinical, technical, business acumen, etc.) within applicable product portfolios and market(s).
3 or more years experience leading a global product management team, with product and people management responsibilities for multiple product lines and/or portfolios, or an entire specialty/program.Demonstrated experience and expertise in global product strategy, leading teams, and cross functional collaboration.Preferred Qualifications:MBA
10 or more years Global Product Management experience or equivalent in the medical device industry.
Prior experience leading organizational change.
