Talon has an office in Tucson, AZ that is providing staffing solutions, technical services support, and manufacturing to Fortune 500 companies.Position Role Type: Contract LaborLocation: Remote with travel at least 50%Electronic Technician Job Description:The Electronic Technician will be maintaining, repairing and calibrating all electronic equipment used to detect, track, and identify adversaries, and for electronic countermeasures. Maintaining, repairing and calibrating electronic equipment including radar, communications and navigation equipment.Primary Qualifications:
- Ability to operate Data Link equipment such as LMMT/ADSI/JRE/Link 16 Terminals.
- Ability to operate and handle COMSEC to include operational and technical use of crypto-loading devices
- Able to operate/set up Communication gear to include SATCOM/HF/UHF radios.
- Ability to develop Standard Operating Procedures
- Ability to transition from technical/operational concepts of C5I systems
- You will serve as the Data Link/Communication Technician Subject Matter Expert (SME) for state-of-the-art testing and development.
- You will perform highly complex technical functions supporting engineering activities such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical components and systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, or specialized test equipment.
- You will work from schematics, diagrams, and written and verbal instructions.
- Direct complex engineering tests to collect design data or assist in general research work.
- Diagnose and isolate equipment and system malfunctions that fail to respond to standard corrective measures and make necessary repairs.
- Participate in the development of electronic equipment.
- Repair or modify cables and equipment returned by operational users or by personnel in the associated test and development laboratories.
- Basic networking skills are required.
- Ability to work unsupervised at times.
- Develop, plan, and execute Technical Test Plans.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Associate’s Degree in a related technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
- 5-8 years of related experience fabricating, maintaining, and repairing electronic components.
- A contract requires at least 4 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting, assessing, and repairing one of the C5I systems. Experience shall have been gained within the last 8 years.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and final security clearance before entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from a typical duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- Understand Risk Management Framework for Networks for DOD systems.
- AJICC Graduate would be ideal
- Prior US Navy Electronic Technician or Information Technician with Link, Network, and Communication experience is required.
- Graduate Technician of US Navy Interface Control School or equivalent
- Certified to operate/set various tactical data link systems
- Certified to operate/set various Communication Systems
- Ability to develop and establish Network protocols
- Understand Network protocols used by the Department of Defense Information Systems.
