This Job is open to: U.S. citizens.VideosDutiesWhat will I do in this position if hired?In this position, you will be working in-person on a 5-person team to support the NWC’s core function of gaining, maintaining, and conveying national-level situational awareness. Typical assignments include:
- Managing all-hazards, multi-source, information collection, aggregation, and analysis, as well as the initial development of a variety of formal reports, briefings, and other written situational awareness products.’
- Authoring initial draft reports, which would require substantial knowledge of both specialized terminology as well as the various authoritative data sources.
- Coordinating the initial response to national-level incidents and developing and issuing operations orders to alert, mobilize, and/or deploy national-level teams and assets.

QualificationsThe qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement.To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
- Analyzing and Identifying data within a watch, operations, center, command center, or equivalent, and,
- Utilizing analyzed data from a variety of sources to develop reports, summaries, briefings, etc., used to inform senior executives/leadership.
- Utilizing mapping programs to evaluate risk assessment information.
