Job description: RecruiterGreta BanholzerOpportunity OverviewAs an Engineer III, this exciting opportunity will be responsible for applying business and technical knowledge to ensure availability of our systems, and to provide quality solutions for business and enterprise software
needs.What You’ll Do:

  • Develop new web applications and maintain existing applications utilizing modern web technologies such as Spring, REST, React, JavaScript/jQuery, Thymeleaf, JPA, Kubernetes, Junit, Selenium, and SoapUI
  • Work with additional open systems tech such as Kafka, MongoDB, Oracle DB, Spring Boot, etcf.
  • Translate business requirements into system design, work directly with business analysts on requirements, prepare detailed technical specifications, and provide hour or story point estimates
  • Perform tech lead role under minimal direction to design, code, test, debug, and maintain programs
  • Provide system support, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issue
  • Provide guidance, training and mentorship to other associates, including performing code peer reviews, suggesting best practices and following SDLC processes

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field or related work experience
  • Minimum 5 years- experience in web application development and support
  • Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, MS SQL and Linux is a plus
  • A continuous learner, forward-thinking, open to new processes and technologies.
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, or Agile practices is beneficial
  • Someone who shows initiative but appreciates a supportive team willing to help
  • Someone who likes challenges, gets things done, and keeps commitments
  • Willing to learn new skills outside of the traditional web space as needed, such as mainframe
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical program preferred or equivalent experience will be considered.

*Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.Salary InformationEdward Jones’ compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage.
