- Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
- Leads and assists in the identification and development of strategic objectives for partnership opportunities with the Johnson Space Center, with a focus on Extravehicular Activity (EVA) and Human Surface Mobility.
- Engages and builds strategic relationships and partnerships within NASA, industry, Other Government Agencies, Research Labs, Academia, and International Partners.
- Identifies industry market needs and drivers, takes ownership of assigned client relationships, communicates NASA needs to industry, and advocates for industry needs to NASA.
- Serves as partnership liaison within NASA to other internal organizations (Mission Directorates, engineering and research organizations, etc.) and seeks opportunities of mutual benefit.
- Manages the partnership portfolio for the EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program, which includes managing and responding to letters of interest and inquiries from non-NASA parties.
- Represents NASA at various events, including conferences and networking events.

QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA’s unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement.To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
- Providing technical expertise in support of aerospace or engineering programs or projects;
- Coordinating with multiple stakeholders, such as management, customers, or external partners;
- Participating in work involving forming strategic partnerships, business development, or relationship management.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
- Managing team progress to accomplish technical and programmatic goals;
- Serving in a technical role, advisory or functional, for an aerospace or engineering program or project;
- Forming and maintaining strategic partnerships or interfacing with various stakeholders on business development and relationship management efforts.

a) Engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs
b) Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science or other field of Science
