We encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to foster your professional and personal growth, all while valuing your unique contributions.As a Medical Sciences Collaborations and External Engagement Director in the Siemens Healthineers Diagnostics Medical Affairs Department, you will be responsible for driving and/or supporting the execution of scientific collaborations and external engagements to generate evidence key to Siemens Healthineers Diagnostics Specialty Laboratory Solutions test use for acute and chronic diseases. You will work closely with key contributors and stakeholders in Medical Affairs and other functional stakeholders, and others to facilitate the development of research relationships with key thought leaders. This role will be responsible for ensuring the execution of short, mid, and long-term evidence generation strategies cross-functionally/across regions to successfully deliver highly relevant and robust evidence to support innovation landscape and asset lifecycle strategy with the intent to publish and communicate the evidence generated.Your role

  • Partner with clinician scientists to generate high quality evidence (i.e., allergy, inflammatory markers, plasma proteins, etc) with the potential to impact clinical decision making.
  • Implement and oversee evidence generation plans to ensure the right evidence is generated in the right way and communicated to the right stakeholders, at the right time and ensure regular revision and update of evidence generation strategies and processes relative to new available knowledge and share generated evidence by attending scientific conferences and publication of manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Establish, drive, and execute various types of non-product registration related clinical research collaborations and drive and adhere to the relevant governance oversight for initiation (ie. IIS, research collaborations, etc.)
  • Foster valuable relationships with key opinion leaders to positively influence science-based recommendations in clinical practice guidelines and serve as Medical Affairs representative to external societies and advocacy groups.
  • Develop strategies to define the optimal use of Siemens Healthineers products within the relevant clinical decision pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external cross-functional teams, to ensure appropriate data sources are identified to identify evidence gaps and address evidence needs. work with respective global and regional leads to develop strategic guidance for IIS and scientific research collaborations in line with strategic priorities.

Your expertise

  • Demonstrated experience and sound understanding of scientific process, scientific research methods, data analysis and interpretation, with a track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience with allergy testing, inflammatory markers, plasma proteins and other immunology related diagnostic testing modalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; establishes trust and partnership collaboration with Cross-functional leadership. Strong communication skills, ability to work within a team, articulate complex subjects with clarity, ease, and executive presence (story telling skills)
  • Strong strategic acumen, good business acumen and anticipation of industry trends; Ability to critically analyze complex data; Ability to translate science into clinical patient value and business value.
  • Ability to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced and highly regulated environment, ability to probe for information, ask questions.
  • Ability to travel 20-30%

Education and experience

  • PhD in biological sciences (Immunology, Clinical Chemistry), or Medical Degree (M.D.) or MD PhD. Board certification in Medical Laboratory Immunology (DABMLI), Clinical Chemistry (DABCC) or anatomic/clinical pathology preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in an IVD or related industry setting in the direct conduct of collaborations, medical and scientific exchange, and evidence generation.

Check our Careers Site atThe pay range for this position is $196,000 – $269,000 U.S. dollars annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as where the work will be performed.
