Job description: DescriptionAre you looking for a career that will make an impact?The Performance and Readiness Health Solutions Business Unit is seeking a full time Military Training Specialist with the Naval Center for Combat & Operational Stress Control (NCCOSC) program in San Diego, CA. This position will provide curriculum development and training course management implementing Navy resilience, toughness and psychological readiness programs designed to improve the psychological health of Marines and Sailors.Are you ready for unique and exciting work?The Military Training Specialist position is a full-time position in direct support of NCCOSC. This position performs duties at the customer site, training sites, and sites where Navy Resilience and Toughness programs are being implemented (Navy Ships, Submarines, and Aviation and Expeditionary commands) and may require travel up to 50% of time. This position will be in San Diego, CA; eligible for remote work 1 day a week as determined by agencies operational needs. The candidate will report to the Programs Department Head as well as to the Leidos Site Program Manager.The Military Training Specialist will work with Department of Defense (DoD) entities, including the OPNAV N17 Culture and Force Resilience Office, NCCOSC Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) N10C3, Fleet and Family Support Center, and other Navy agencies in the development, implementation and facilitation of necessary resources and trainings in support of the Navy resilience and toughness initiatives. The Military Training Specialist will work closely with highly motivated professionals who have a variety of skills and experience and who are committed to promoting a positive working environment.Primary Responsibilities:The Military Training Specialist will:Serve as a subject matter expert in Resilience Program and Combat and Operational Stress Control (COSC).Primarily responsible for training delivery and course management.Will be responsible for working directly with units in implementing the Navy Resilience and Toughness programs.Will be responsible for conducting individualized or group training sessions.Will be responsible for tracking, collecting, and delivering post-training student data to Project Manager and support for program evaluation efforts.Facilitate the development and maintenance of appropriate training materials and curriculum.Engage in public speaking and outreach in support of the resilience and toughness programs and COSC and other resilience initiatives.May be responsible for the creation of course content and training materials.Support general resilience project development and project management.Act independently to determine methods and procedures to be used on new assignments.Stay current in reviewing literature related to the resilience and COSC mission, including military stress and related conditions.Perform other job-related duties as assigned and within your scope of practice.If this sounds like an environment where you can thrive, keep reading for the keys to success!Required Education/Skills:Bachelor’s degreePrior military experience with proven military leadership experience is required. Navy experience preferred.Experience in military training course facilitation.Completion of either Basic Instructor Training (BIT) course, Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) course, or Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) preferred.Familiarity with combat and operational stress control concepts.Proficient with Microsoft office, specifically excel and PowerPoint, Teams, oral presentations, writing and collaboration skills.Ability to develop positive working relationships with Navy and Marine Corps Commands and line leaders, medical and psychological health providers, chaplains, civilian contractors, and General Schedule (GS) civilians.Ability to travel internationally in support of fleet training requirements (current Passport).Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Due to federal contract regulations, US Citizenship is required.Candidates MUST be able to pass a government background investigation.The position is designated as a drug testing designated position (TDP).Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or administration.Minimum of Eight (8) years of Navy service preferred.Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification with (3) years training experience with a good understanding of curriculum facilitation techniques.Experience in Navy Operational Stress Control and psychological health preferred. Applicants should possess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity such that they can relate constructively to a variety of contacts from diverse backgrounds.Experience interacting with Senior Navy Leaders and possess substantial familiarity with Navy rank/rate structure, customs, traditions, and the different Navy operational units, and their functions.Adaptable, and creative problem solvers; self-motivated and able to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision, have significant ability to multitask and prioritize, and assist in project management responsibilities.Prior related experience.Naval Health West – NHWOriginal Posting Date: 2024-08-07While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range: Pay Range $49,400.00 – $89,300.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
