Job description: DIGIT is seeking a Program Communications Lead to create IT messages for end users, technical teams, as well as program-wide messaging. This role is responsible for taking technical information, and then creating plain language messaging for end users to understand how the technical information impacts them. The Program Communications Lead primarily drafts and sends email communications, but also proofreads and edits pertinent documentation (e.g. articles being shared, slide decks, etc.) or other messaging.As a leading provider of advanced information technology solutions and professional services to U.S. federal government agencies, is the prime for a $807m task order in support of the General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Digital Infrastructure Technologies (IDT) DIGIT (Digital Innovation for GSA Infrastructure Technologies) task order driving digital transformation and delivering continuous improvement and business value to its customers. The team is comprised of the best-in-class technology partners to leverage forward-leaning technologies and best practices to transform GSA’s IT capabilities and shift offerings to provide a more flexible service delivery model, completing the agency’s shift to a fully digital experience along with its adoption of advanced, emerging technologies such as intelligent automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.Responsibilities:This position shall perform the following (to include but not limited to) activities:– Organizes and prepares information and data for use in a wide variety of complex technical publications requiring in-depth knowledge and understanding of the subject matter and allied fields– Disseminates complex (and highly technical) information and translates that information into plain language, to be understood (and acted upon) by end users– Works independently preparing and maintaining highly complex systems, programming and operations documentation, procedures and methods– Recommends overall organization and layout, mode of presentation, publication methods– Develops publications concept for best communication of subject matter– May recommend editorial standards– Reviews technical literature prepared by other staff members for content, coverage and clarity– May provide work leadership for lower level employees– Availability to occasionally work nights and weekendsQualificationsRequirements:– Public Trust Clearance by start date– ITILv4 Foundation Training and ITILv4 Foundation Certification (must be obtained within 120 days after hire)– 4 – 9 years of experience and bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience– 2 – 3 years of direct experience as a communications lead working directly with a government customer– Experience as a remote worker demonstrating time management, self-discipline, cultural change management, and an Agile mindset– Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments– Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.– Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.– Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.– Supports writing technical materials, such as Standard Operating Procedure documents, plans, and instructions– Proven ability to work independently in a full and/or partial remote environment with limited supervision, and may supervise/lead others– Possess the ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms, and communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients– Maintain standard working hours per the DIGIT contract and be available for meetings and other collaborations during those hours– Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high priority assignments with the ability to use practical experience and training to determine how to accomplish tasks– Have great attention to detail and grammar– Handle edits, critiques, and corrections professionallyDesired:– Be willing to learn in order to apply expertise to complex work assignments.– Can think and write creatively for a broad range of assignments, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.– Willingness to think outside the box when faced with problems.– Use common sense and with the ability to use practical experience/ and training to determine how to accomplish tasks– Have great attention to detail and grammar– Handle edits, critiques, and corrections professionally– Proficiency in the Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Docs, Slides, Sheets), GovDelivery, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Slack, and ServiceNow– Willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduledPhysical Requirements:
