This role involves providing comprehensive mental health services to a diverse client base, focusing primarily on individuals covered under Medicaid. The LCSW will be instrumental in assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy to help clients manage a variety of challenges associated with physical health conditions, mental health issues, and socioeconomic obstacles.Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments and periodic re-evaluations of clients to identify their needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
- Provide direct therapeutic services such as individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate mental health services with overall health care management.
- Advocate for clients to ensure they receive necessary services, which may include coordinating with other agencies or providers involved in their care.
- Document and maintain accurate and detailed client records in compliance with regulatory standards and confidentiality laws.
- Assist clients and their families in understanding and navigating the complexities of the Medicaid system.
- Engage in continuous professional development to ensure best practices in clinical social work and compliance with all state regulations and requirements.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) and a current LCSW license valid in the state of Maryland.
- Proven experience in mental health settings, preferably in home health or related fields.
- Deep understanding of the Medicaid system and the specific needs of clients utilizing this insurance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Commitment to providing respectful and empathetic care to all clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and case management software.
