Job description: Your JobGeorgia-Pacific – Sweetwater has an amazing opportunity for a Senior HR Generalist to work in partnership with supervisors and employees at Georgia-Pacific’s Gypsum Complex located in Sweetwater, Texas. Georgia-Pacistate has built a state-of-the-art gypsum wallboard production facility. The new ~$315 million plant was built adjacent to the existing plant and will incorporate state-of-the-art production processes. The two operations combined will be capable of supplying customers and distribution partners with more than 1 billion square feet of gypsum product each year. Our facility is located 40 miles West of Abilene, TX and employs about 200 team members. This location is a non-unionized facility. The Sweetwater facility is a short drive west from Abilene, Texas, a city with a metropolitan population of almost 170,000 people.Our TeamThis person will be key in advancing our HR vision and operational bets. While learning the business, your contribution will be at a Sr HR Generalist level with primary focus in employee relations, staffing, retention and turnover reduction strategies, and advancement of our PBM culture, supporting two manufacturing facilities.This position is a work on-site role, in Sweetwater, TX.What You Will Do

- Investigate questions and/or complaints; resolve employee relations issues and use each complaint/issue as an opportunity to understand the true root cause and develop a plan to resolve.
- Advancing Our Talent Position.
- Partner with various capability teams and staffing support groups to improve our talent position.
- Stay informed on competitors in the Sweetwater/Abilene west Texas market and develop a gap closure plan for this as needed.
- Own hourly staffing to include forecasting, staffing plan execution, onboarding effectiveness, and maintaining employee electronic files.
- Support performance management, turnover reduction efforts, and Supervisor development.
- Partner with each department leader, develop future talent within GP through. succession planning. Show employees there are future growth opportunities within GP.
- Driving Process Excellence.
- Identify HR compliance risks and develop gap closure plans to address risks while implementing a systematic approach to maintaining compliance, to include FMLA, ADA, AAP, OFCCP, FLSA, EEOC, SOX, and other critical compliance requirements. Utilize HR capabilities within GP to meet these goals.
- Mentor and train leaders and supervisors on HR compliance risk, and requirements
- Optimize risk by effectively interpreting current policies and practices while identifying opportunities to drive standardization and eliminate waste.
- Work with a platform mindset to build processes that are repeatable across plants and allows for remote support.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and previous related experience (HR, recruiting, or training & development) OR 5 plus years of related experience ( HR, recruiting, or training & development).
What Will Put You Ahead
- At least 5 years of previous experience working in an HR role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Previous experience with performance management processes.
- Previous experience with TABLEAU is a plus.
- Previous experience with Kronos is a plus.
