PVS provides a complete solution for veterinarians to open their own franchised veterinary practice. Launched in 2022, PVS hospitals connect pet parents with local, trusted veterinarians with convenient veterinarian hospital locations within PetSmart stores. It’s a simple but powerful solution that gives veterinarians ownership and control of their practice while providing high-quality veterinary care. About the Location:Hybrid Position:This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs. About the Job:The Talent & Events Specialist position partners with leaders on the PetSmart Veterinary Services Team to support the recruitment needs of franchised hospitals and to implement the conference strategy logistics. This role will utilize recruiting expertise and market knowledge to develop and execute passive and active sourcing strategies while leveraging innovative and industry-focused methods of identifying and engaging with talented veterinary professionals.The PVS talent role will work with franchise leaders to develop a recruiting/hiring strategy. Additionally, they will educate franchise owners on the importance of proactively creating their individual talent pipeline through networking, building and engaging their personal network, attending industry events and beyond.This role is a full-time salaried position working to fill roles and build the franchise recruitment lead pipeline for PetSmart Veterinary Services Hospitals and support the conference strategy. This role is open due to growth within PetSmart.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages and owns the talent recruiting process from candidate sourcing through identification and referring to the franchise hiring manager.
- Collaborates on effective sourcing strategies.
- Hands-on application and full utilization of web-based applicant tracking and candidate sourcing tools (including but not limited to CRM and ATS systems).
- Maintains current applicant tracking documentation through each phase of the recruitment process.
- Provides first-in-class recruiting support and guidance to franchises of PetSmart Veterinary Hospitals.
- Educate owners on the importance of and how to proactively build their own talent pipeline.
- Assesses candidates and generates a pipeline for a variety of concurrent searches using a diverse set of sourcing tools and techniques that attract top talent.
- Share hiring best practices and assist in reviewing job postings and placing advertisements.
- Collaborates with the franchise development and sales team on incoming and sourced leads.
- Coordinates and executes conference and event strategy from start to finish, ensuring all logistics are in place.
- Coordinate registration processes, including managing registrations, attendee communication, and payment processing for conferences.
- Attend conferences, coordinate and supervise on-site logistics, including setup, registration, communication and attendee services to guarantee smooth event execution.
- Facilitate full utilization of event resources. Partner with sales team to facilitate timely, proactive, and ongoing communication with contacts.
- Build and maintain a budget to track expenses for each conference to evaluate return on investment.
- Implements and documents process improvements.
- Supports all Belonging, Diversity and Inclusion strategies related to talent acquisition.
- Maintains a commitment to clear and proactive communication with all hospital leaders.
- Leads business initiatives pertaining to recruiting.
- Provides oversight and guidance as needed with assigned recruitment activities.
- Provide status updates and progress reports tied to KPIs and business objectives on an aligned to, consistent cadence.
- Travel up to 50% of the time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college/university in a relevant field preferred.
- 3-4 year of demonstrated recruitment success in diverse consultative full-cycle recruiting experience with search firms and corporate environments.
- Proven proficiency with a diverse sourcing toolkit that includes job boards, search engines, niche sites, LinkedIn and other social media, passive lead generation, etc.
- Experience attending conferences and special events to build talent pipeline.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills including the ability to offer out-of-the-box and creative solutions to recruiting challenges.
- Accountable and independent, as well as collaborative, fostering a cohesive team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in a variety of settings across all organizational levels.
- Proven organizational and time management in order to work independently on a variety of tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience is permissible.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Experience with HR applications.
