- Provide staff supervision, assistance, coordination, and review regarding the execution of program areas such as Energy/Water Management, Environmental Compliance, NEPA, Remediation and Sustainability in the Environmental Management Division.
- Represent the Environmental Management Division interests in meetings pertaining to overall program support responsibilities involving representatives of NASA HQ and all Centers, Federal and State agencies, private industry, and local communities.
- Responsible for division budgeting, managing, planning, directing, and coordinating environmental protection and support services to all segments of Ames Research Center (ARC).
- Advise on, manage, supervise, and perform administrative or program work for environmental compliance and protection programs at Ames Research Center.
- Provide functional leadership, policy, planning, and coordination for organizational sustainability, environmental compliance, environmental planning, environmental conservation, and environmental justice issues to enable Agency mission success.
- Define jobs, select employees, assign work; define technical work requirements and milestones; evaluate the organization and employee accomplishments by accepting or rejecting work products.
- Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

QualificationsSpecialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
- Leading diverse teams in environmental compliance, planning, conservation, and restoration;
- Providing oversight and expertise in Environmental Management, Cultural Resources Management, Energy/Water Management, Environmental Compliance, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Natural Resources Management, Remediation, or Sustainability;
- Developing, planning, or implementing policy as well as effective communication with regulatory bodies at all levels and with organizational leadership.
