• Administer diverse physical therapy programs utilizing various modalities, such as hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, ultrasound, or therapeutic exercise.
• Design patient progressive treatment plans.
• Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities.
• Research new therapy equipment and make recommendations for purchase.
• Evaluate work performance of subordinates; give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters,

• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• Incumbent may be required to perform call duties; work overtime to include weekends and federal holidays, out of cycle, or unscheduled training or on an emergency basis.
• The work may require the incumbent to work evenings/nights; rotating shifts, extended hours or other schedules common to hospital operations.
• A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States is required.
• Position requires employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional information about transcripts is .Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) implementing physical therapy treatment plans, and 2) instructing on physical therapy programs, and 3) supervise assigned physical therapy assistants regarding work assignments/performance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).OREducation: One year and a half (i.e., 27 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Kinesiotherapy, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)ORCombination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
