Once a selection has been made, the hiring manager will close the posting.The OpportunityThis temporary position provides Zoom technical assistance to the Washington State Legislature during the legislative session. Employment will start December 30th, 2024, and last approximately 17 weeks. Once training is complete, this position can be performed remotely or on the Capitol Campus. Coordinated work hours are between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of occasional weekend and evening work. This temporary position does not include benefits such as leave, medical, dental, vision, or retirement.The Legislative Service Center, also known as LEG-TECH, is the dedicated technology solutions provider for the Washington State Legislature. We provide a connected Legislature through network services, custom application development and maintenance, hardware and software troubleshooting, and technical training.The position is part of the Customer Support Group (CSG). CSG is the face of the organization. We are looking for enthusiastic Zoom Technical Assistants to operate the technical portion of critical Zoom Meetings, support hearing room operations, and provide key troubleshooting support. - Provide Zoom hosting and technical support for legislative committee hearings.
- Provide Zoom support for remote House and Senate floor activity.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with legislative members, staff, presenters, and the public who attend committee hearings virtually.
- Provide technical expertise for microphones, cameras, and audio systems for those participating in Zoom meetings.
- Facilitate public testimony by managing Zoom attendees and enabling them to speak in Zoom Webinars as needed.
- Monitor the virtual components of committee hearings to ensure the security, dependability, and transparency of the legislative committee process.
- Ensure that committee hearings are recorded using Zoom Cloud recording.
- Provide audio and video assistance for participants joining virtually, if needed.
- Enable Zoom accessibility options to allow for more accessible Zoom hearings.
- Communicate with colleagues to give and receive support.

Qualifications
- Knowledge of Zoom’s video conferencing capabilities (Zoom Meetings and Zoom Webinars) is preferred.
- Strong verbal speaking and listening skills, can move patiently but efficiently at the speed of different customers.
- Works well with others and maintains a positive, professional demeanor while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure legislative environment.
- Ability to discern and maintain confidentiality while remaining nonpartisan and professional.
- Organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite and Outlook. Knowledge of Teams is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team environment, yet take direction from others.
Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must be a resident of Washington State or willing to relocate.
- This is a hybrid work position in Washington State. While a “remote-first” work approach is embraced, a coordinated on-site presence may be necessary.
- Extended hours and weekend work may be required during the legislative session and special sessions, for pre-session preparations, and during anticipated workload surges.
